I want to use a couple of image files from Chromium project in my project. The Chromium license says that "Redistributions of source code must retain the above copyright notice...".
Where should I put that copyright notice?
http://code.google.com/chromium/terms.html

You can create a LICENSE file where you state, that the images are licensed under the BSD license and that the original copyright belongs to the chromium authors.

I have been all over the http://www.typescriptlang.org/ site and cannot find current information about the license for TypeScript. We would like to start exploring TypeScript as a replacement for JavaScript in our organization, but are unclear on the terms of use. The old codeplex site indicated it was licensed under Apache Version 2.0, but I can't find anything recent. Does anyone have pointers to the latest terms?
Existing questions on the topic seem to be regarding the preview version of TypeScript.
Thanks!
Paul
The authorative source tells that the current version is Apache licensed as well: https://github.com/Microsoft/TypeScript/blob/master/LICENSE.txt

I planned to write a small neo4j wrapper in my own framework, which is OS under the Apache 2 license. Is it a problem to publish my code for neo4j under the Apache2 license since neo4j uses the GPL/AGPL license?
Thanks a lot!
you can publish the code under Apache License, however the runtime would be under GPL. Got any details?

I'm thinking of porting some of GNOME to Minix to help me study C. If the program I want to port is a copyleft license (e.g. GPL), does the ported version have to be licensed under the same license, or can I change the license?
Yes, a modified GPL program must be released under the GPL.

Is JRE (standard edition) freely redistributable with our commercial application?
Is yes, what license text / note should I look into. Any pointers will greatly appreciated.
If you download the JRE from Oracle, you should receive a license, where this all is explained in great detail.

is it "legal" to use GNU-Code in a software project developed from a company for internal use only.
So here is no distribution out of the company.
nobody can force the company to publish their code?
Yes. The licenses don't require you to publish your software at all.
