Pinax build_static error - static

Following the Pinax documentation (development version), I set up an app in a virtual environment. Then, I ran "python manage.py build_static" inside my project directory. That triggered an error:
Unknown command: 'build_static'
What am I missing here?

you must to activate the virtual environment first
Ex: $ source ../pinax-env/bin/activate

Cannot deploy to with gh-pages with specific project due to error: cannot spawn sh: No such file or directory

Keep getting the error:
error: cannot spawn sh: No such file or directory
fatal: unable to fork
The project builds correctly but when trying to deploy my website it fails.
Website was created with "create-react-app" on my windows 8 pc with the command "gh-pages -d build"
This issue only occurs in this specific project on my pc as when I create a new project with "create-react-app" on my pc it'll deploy fine. This specific project can also be deployed fine with "gh-pages -d build" on my mac but not my pc.

Somewhere along the line I must've messed up something. I've looked over the web, tried reinstalling git, editor, dependencies and am super confused as to what's causing this. It must be an operating system difference? Thanks!
It's trying to spawn sh.exe but can't find it.
You need to add the git directory that contains sh.exe to your system variables.
(go start and type: 'path'. This should provide you with a shortcut to 'system environment variables'. If not look up how to edit environment variables on your version of windows.)
Once you have the environment variables dialogue box open, have a look in the System variables > 'path' list. There may be a git directory there that doesn't contain sh.exe. You need to replace it with one that does (ensure this also contains git.exe).
On my pc sh.exe was found in:
C:\Program Files\Git\bin
Once this is done restart the terminal and attempt to deploy again.

Jenkins error: Can't find Xvfb installation

I defined Xvfb installation on Jenkins according to these instructions: https://wiki.jenkins.io/display/JENKINS/Xvfb+Plugin.
Access Manage Jenkins >> Global Tool Configuration. In Section Xvfb installation, put name and fill the field Directory in which to find Xvfb executable with /usr/bin.
But this error appears:
Home path does not contain Xfvb executable: /usr/bin and build fails with following error: No Xvfb installations defined, please define one in the configuration. Once defined you’ll need to choose one under Advanced options for Xvfb plugin job settings and save job configuration.
I have Xvfb plugin version 1.1.3
How can I solve this problem?
Even I faced the same issue while setting up the jenkins
Manually I had to set the path like below
export PATH="$PATH:/usr/bin/Xvfb"
And then adding /usr/bin in Global Tool Configuration under "Directory in which to find Xvfb executable " solved the issue. Hope this helps.

Opendaylight (odl) ovs-vsctl not found error

I am following this tutorial: https://wiki.opendaylight.org/view/Getting_started
I am trying to use the following code in opendaylight using karaf
ovs-vsctl show
But the command window says Command not found: ovs-vsctl
I have installed all the necessary libraries and the local host server (http://localhost:8181/dlux/index.html) is running fine. But somehow odl can't find ovs.
Can anyone tell me what's the error? I am running win 8.
Thank you
You need to run this command outside of karaf terminal.
Firstly, you should have ovs(Open Virtual Switch) or Mininet installed, and then create one or two open switches.
Basically, you started the SDN controller in karaf, and now in the step you are encountering problem, the switches need to be assigned ODL controller as their manager.
You must check also that ovsdb is already installed in karaf.
For that, try to execute the next command:
feature:list | grep ovsdb
That command will display all the ovsdb components/features that are available in your karaf distribution. The third column will indicate you if a given component is already installed or not (if you see an X, that means that the component is installed). If you want to install a component/feature:
feature:install <name_of_the_feature>
After that, try to execute it outside of karaf, as Sidhant01 has indicated you before.
Try to do it with sudo:
sudo ovs-vsctl show.
If you want to configure ovsdb in an active mode:
tools-vm:~$ sudo ovs-vsctl set-manager tcp:127.0.0.1:6640
tools-vm:~$ sudo ovs-vsctl show
98d8cf7a-44b1-4b02-a60c-7d832409d06f
Manager "tcp:127.0.0.1:6640"
is_connected: true
ovs_version: "2.0.2"

running web2py with GoogleAppEngineLauncher

Trying to run my web2py app from the development server using GoogleAppEngineLauncher
Not sure if the on-line tutorials are out of date or I'm just missing something, but when I follow the link to download the GoogleAppEngine pythonSDK for OSX I get a dmg for the GoogleAppEngineLauncher.
I download and use that, which installs the proper executables, however after I setup my app.yaml file and run "dev_appserver.py myApp" I get this error:
fancy_urllib.InvalidCertificateException: Host appengine.google.com returned an invalid certificate (_ssl.c:503: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed):
I don't get the error if I try and launch the app from the launcher itself, however I can't launch the app because it says the directory already exists and I don't have write permissions. I even tried chmod 777 on the myApp directory.
Should I not be using the GoogleAppLauncher?
additionally I tried using the linux SDX and received the same "certificate" error. The error message directs me to a link mentioning that I need the "ssl" module, but that is included in python 2.7.2 which I am using.
The link also mentions: "appcfg uses SSL when connecting to the Admin Console by default, unless the --insecure flag is passed." But I cannot find that flag in the help menu.
Found this answer which solves the problem.
Basically:
rm google_appengine/lib/cacerts/cacerts.txt
From the SDK

Unable to use mvn gae:run with version maven-gae-plugin:0.9.4?

I am using maven gae plugin version 0.9.4 and whenever I use mvn gae:run I get the following error:
Usage: <dev-appserver> [options] <war directory>
Options:
--help, -h Show this help message and exit.
--server=SERVER The server to use to determine the latest
-s SERVER SDK version.
--address=ADDRESS The address of the interface on the local machine
-a ADDRESS to bind to (or 0.0.0.0 for all interfaces).
--port=PORT The port number to bind to on the local machine.
-p PORT
--sdk_root=root Overrides where the SDK is located.
--disable_update_check Disable the check for newer SDK versions.
--generated_dir=dir Set the directory where generated files are created.
Googling this turned up some old threads where this used to be a problem in 0.5 versions of the plugin but was fixed. Not sure why its happening for me and what are the work arrounds. Any ideas?
I also experienced this problem with maven-gae-plugin 0.9.4 and jdk1.6.0_23 on Windows 7. All I did to reproduce this was to create a project using the gae-archetype-jsp archetype and then use mvn gae:run.
However, I backed maven-gae-plugin down to 0.9.2 and the problem went away!
