I am a new bee in wpf. I want to implement a graph in my application using C#.net.
I try to implement chart , but chart have x,y coordinates & legents. I want to display only small graph, i don't want to display AxiesX,AxiesY points& Graph descryption.
What is the best & simple graph control in wpf, how i can implement in C#.net.
Thanks,
i have been using visifire and i really like them. Easy to use and look really nice. the have trial charts that you can try out but to use them it does cost money, but it isnt terribly expensive considering how much time you could spend creating your own charts.

Go here: http://wpf.codeplex.com/releases/view/40535 and get the WPFToolKit
It includes charting controls that are basic, functional, and easy to use. Best of all, they're free.
It will add the System.Windows.Controls.DataVisualization namespace to your project when you add WPFToolKit as a reference.
You can do it all in code-behind... if you really have to. :)

I need a help creating gantt chart, that will look like this below
I am using DevExpress 12.2, and WinForms.
It doesn't need to be done with DevEpress, I just need to get that look.
Thank you
It's been a while since this was asked, but I've wanted something like this too. I looked at other WinForms Gantt Chart controls available and found they were pretty complicated. So I made a simple, yet highly-customizable Gantt Chart for WinForms: https://github.com/derekantrican/GanttChart . No DevExpress required
The "month view" that you want isn't supported yet but I'm working on adding it!
It has been a while since I last used DevExpress, but I recently used the following open source control, which is quite easy to implement and well-documented. I strongly suggest you to take a look into it.
Codeplex - .NET Winforms Gantt Chart Control
Also, you could probably do something with the Chart control of .NET but that will just require a lot more work, so I'd give the link I put above a shot.
In case if you are looking for a full-featured interactive Gantt view, you can also check the Scheduler Control - Gantt View.
I am currently looking to build a workflow editor in Silverlight that will allow user to drag and drop couple of objects from toolbox and draw them on canvas, connect it with connectors - pretty much like a flow chart designer.
I have gone through Silverlight Toolkit and some other links on the web, but not really sure how would I accomplish this.
Is there any built-in functionality in Silverlight, or do I need to use any external libraries for proper drag and drop?
How good is Silverlight in drawing custom shapes?
For reference, check "SilverDiagram": http://www.silverdiagram.net/Projects/SilverDiagram.aspx
Appreciate some quick & real help in this regard.
Thanks!
1.Is there any built-in functionality in Silverlight, or do I need to use any external libraries for proper drag and drop?
There is no built in functionality to develop drag and drop in Silverlight. It is always better to develop your own. It is not that difficult.
2.How good is Silverlight in drawing custom shapes?
Silverlight is your excellent friend in drawing custom shapes. But you need to adapt your thinking you are coming from conventional way of GUI programming like WinForms.
Has anyone tried or successfully implemented interactivity in the charts of the Silverlight Charting Toolkit? I want to grab a column for instance and move it up, so that the bound value is increased through my interaction with the chart.
I know there are commercial alternatives out there but really would like to know if it is possible with the toolkit or only achievable with disproportionate effort.
Thanks in advance.
This doesn't directly answer your question, but since the question has been sitting since March, I'll post it anyway.
Try Telerik's RadChart control. It supports a lot more than the standard stuff.
Telerik has a wide variety of interactive charts including this one that you can play around with. You may want to start with this page and click the "Other Chart Examples" drop down to see what they have to offer.
We I'm looking for good WPF toolkit (ones that cost money) that can provide both powerful grid and charting. I'm not that up-to-date whats out there, so i was hoping anyone can assist me with where i should look for. some of the most needed features we need:
Grid:
Hierarchical tree grid
Charting:
panning and Zooming
3D charts
Empty Data point display
Line chart / Scatter Plot
any suggestion would be highly appreciated.

We're currently using two toolkits for WPF development:
Telerik
Infragistics
They both features charts and a powerful grid, plus a bunch of other things. There isn't much between them to be honest. Telerik seems to look a bit slicker. On the other hand the technical support you get from Infragistics is first class and well worth paying for. You can get a chat session with an actual developer within a couple of minutes and they usually have a solution for whatever problem you are facing.
I would happily recommend either of these.
Anyone know which control they used on this site to get the Organisation chart? http://www.yworks.com/products/yfilessilverlight/SilverChart.html
Or any other controls that are similiar?
If not, could you suggest a way on how to get started building one? (Interface-wise, I think I know how to get the data binding to work).
The organisation chart control is their own, thats whole point of the demo page.
The UI elements involved are quite simple rectangular items. The real trick is calculating their placement on panel and routing the connecting lines.
I guess the missing peice of the puzzle is what generically we would call that. If you know that then you have a basis for a web search for algorithms for doing this sort of thing either academically or in some other product entirely, then bring that knowledge to your own Silverlight code.
Alternatively you could just go out buy the product.
