In dnn I want to set the path for the person logged in when they use the editor - currently I cant let people upload threir own photos becasue to amny people can see to many other peoples pics.
Personally if you are looking to do this, I would go the route of switching to the Telerik RadEditor. it has some better extension points that can allow you to accomplish this desired goal.
I haven't tried that myself, but have a look here and here. The same solution is described in both places.

First of all I would like to thank everyone on this forum, as you have made some of my friends greatest projects successful and I was hoping one of these projects can be done without them.
Now I want to expand to other services. I want to make an app in WinForms or WPF (But im still learning XAML so if you can it would help to answer for winforms) that constantly updates data and displays pictures or video in a row/rows. Like almost Moviebox for iPhone or Showbox for android. How movies are updated constantly without updating the app. (Im not promting piracy, its just the best example I could think of). And when you click on the movie(Which is a picture) it gives a description and picture and even a youtube video.
It kinda would work like a blog reader.... I think?
I think I will need a server and I will probably need a database. But sadly , i'm still a beginner, but willing to learn. Thanks and if you need any more info, please just ask. :)

By good, I mean using hooks/filters.
Basically, by default the two options are Images and Uploaded to this page. I would like to add an additional option in there. I know how to add a new tab to the media manager (see here), but that doesn't achieve what I need.
I've been looking through the limited documentation on 3.5 and have found the media_view_strings/settings filters, but, based on what I can tell, neither could be used in this case. I've also done quite a bit of digging through the core source, but the number of files relating to the media uploader is daunting to say the least.
I thought about running JS after page load to modify the DOM and just add the extra select option in, but this seems very hackish and I'd like to avoid it if there is a better, more robust solution.
Any thoughts on the best way to approach this would be greatly appreciated!

Most of those select-dropdowns are from wp-includes/media-template.php, which has a lot of Underscore templating (<script type="text/html" tags), but few action hooks for php code. With Javascript you can bind the Backbone.js hooks for wp.media events, such as wp.media's open/close events. From such event you could grab that Images/uploaded-to-page selectbox with jQuery('.media-modal-content:visible .attachment-filters'), add item(s) and listeners as needed. I'm pretty sure there should be a much better Backbone.js-style solution, though.

i am new to drupal and it is irritating me. i have mastered wordpress and SMF forum software to a near expert level. but drupal as well as joomla have made the admin interfaces so totally confusing i wish there was an answer available for me to use and drop them altogether.
i cant get the slide show to show up on the front page or any other page. i cant find in there a sufficient means of manipulating the content blocks and logging and nav blocks. i am not new to computers and programming, and if this was a programming problem, i probably would have fixed it by now, but the interface is so confusing i cant get the site to do anything im wanting it to do.
i have looked at several tutorials that dont help at all. i found out about a part time job my company is offering and i know for fact i can do it if i can get past the fact that the admin interface is a maze of confusion.

It would appear that you may have solved your problem. I followed your link and the image rotator was working.
About the only difference was that on the AT demo site I was able to click the dots at the lower right hand corner to select the image I wanted whereas on your test site I was unable to do so.
I've been asked to look in to creating and online database for sorting flash banners. So its kind of like a big resource library where our client can log on search and browser for old/existing banner creatives.
Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should do/look in to. CMS Framesworks etc.
I'm pretty sure I could use Wordpress for this job via custom post types etc. But I think there's probably a better solution out there. Drupal? Joomla? Expression Engine? Or would it be better to just create a basic cms from scratch.
Features needed:
Kick arse search functionality (am guessing the client will likely try to search for creative by year, month, campaign, banner type.
Smart navigation
Sharing is convenient
Must be able to demo working demos of expanding banners as well as non-expanding
CMS so new ads can be easily added to the library.

I shows a browser where user can select the fields he wants to scrap and it creates a crawl script out of it.
The crawl script generation part is clear to me, I want to know does it record the user actions which the user is doing in the browser.
I want to do something similar using C#.
I guess they run something like iMacros on the backend. I even noticed the iMacros browser icon in some of their screenshots ;-)
If you want to code something like this yourself in C#, the IE webbrowser control is the best starting point!
#yc08m, I can tell you for sure that they are not using iMacros. It is all coded with their own proprietary code.
I realize this is an extremely outdated post, but they seem to rely heavily on XPath, so first things first you would need to load the page into an object that you can query. I'd recommend using something like Html Agility pack to accomplish this.
