In the silverlight toolkit chart control, the legend on the X Axis can show an indeterminate amount of points. E.g. 1,2,3,4,5.
Would it be possible to colour the virtual columns that this creates? I.e. in the space where legend mark 2 is shown, the space above to the top of the control is shaded to a different colour. This will make it interesting as as the chart scales, the legends on the X Axis change with the size available.
This is mainly for a series of type ScatterSeries for my specific example but could extend to a series of LineSeries.
Hope this explains my requirements.
It's not really possible due to the fact that there are no virtual columns created.
The chart is a canvas and the scatter point is just a point positioned on it. Your best bet would be to create your own ColumnSeries type and then style it to look like a ScatterSeries with your desired background colour.

I want to display a legend slider besides the map to show the color of the custom raster layer, of the hovered territory. Therefore, I need to get the layer pixel color where the cursor is.
I have found a solution to get the color of a pixel on the map How to get the color of pixels on mapbox, however, if we hover roads or names, another color gets read.
Is there a way to read the layer color on a specific map point?
Are the roads and place labels baked into the raster, or overlaid as vector data sourced layers?
I'm not sure of another method besides querying the canvas, in which case one option would be to hide the vector layers, query, then reshow. But that may not result in the interaction you want?
I'm using the Telerik Reports graph wizard to create a bar chart. Even though I can change the ColorPalette property to GradientPalette and can choose the desired colors, the results are the same flat single color. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help and advice.
The Graph's Color Palette applies gradient coloring on the whole series, not on each of the the data points. I believe you're trying to achieve gradient-colored bars, but this feature is not supported. If in your bar chart you define series groups, then the first bar will be colored using the palette's BeginColor, the last bar will be colored with the palette's EndColor all the bars between them will have solid color, calculated based on their count and offset from the BeginColor towards the EndColor.
The Gradient Palette makes much sense when used in the Choropleth, where the color represents an additional data measure - see a demo here.
is there a way to add some markers, like points or vertical lines with text labels to a visiblox chart?
Cheers,
Lutz
The premium version of Visiblox supports the concept of annotations; elements which are anchored to values on your X and/or Y axes. The Visiblox API supports the following annotations out-of-the-box:
Ellipse / circle
Rectangle / square
Lines (horizontal, vertical, point-to-point)
Text labels
Text labels anchored to datapoints (callout)
Annotations can be placed on the chart programmatically, and thereafter can be moved by the user via 'grippers'.
For a good idea of what is easily possible, see the following demo application:

I'm using the newest chart control from silverlight toolkit to plot some data. For small cases it works ok, but for bigger samples the X axis labels overlap. It would be no problem if the chart would simply omit some of the values or I could specify to just show every 10th of them ...
I couldn't find any properties providing this behavior. Any ideas?
Assuming this is a Linear axis then you can specify the interval to use via the the Interval property on the axis.
If the axis in question is Category Axis then dropping some labels may not be valuable to the user. One option is to use the LayoutTransfomer to rotate the labels to an angle reducing the width needed for each one. See this Delay Blog on the subject.
We are using the Mindfusion WPF Diagramming Component. I require a Visualbrush which must be able to be used in a third-party component for diagramming.
We have horizontally-stretching lanes on the diagramming canvas. We must define a background color for this lane, and some text on the top-left corner, to be repeated on the x-axis. The text must remain the same size while the rest of the lane is filled with color when the lane is re-sized.
Unfortunately, the only thing we can do is provide a Visualbrush to the diagramming component, which is then set as background for the lane. It seems impossible to work with this restriction because I am unable to define a text with fixed size, repeating on the x-axis, while also having a color brush stretching, all within a single Visualbrush. How can this be done?
