I had to brew reinstall some things that my existing project uses.
Now I'm getting this error when I'm running a SELECT statement:

It is complaining about PostGis. I did brew install postgis to install it again. Still getting the error. Where is $libdirdirectory in my macbook so that I can view the files? How do I fix this error?
The issue was that my versions of postGis and postgresql were incompatible (I had used brew install xxx to get them both).
So I just uninstalled all postgresql and postgis versions from my computer: brew uninstall postgresql and brew uninstall postgis
brew list still listed one version of postgresql:
postgresql9.4
So I uninstalled that version:
brew uninstall postgresql9.4
Then I used postgres.app downloads to download and install postgresql and postgis, because it gets them both together and they are always compatible.
I specifically went for the "Legacy Postgres.app with PostgreSQL 10" download because that is what I was using all through my development on this app.
Use instructions at https://postgresapp.com/ to install it after it is downloaded.

I'm trying to install SQL Server Integration Services on RHEL 8. I have SQL Server 2019 (version v15) installed and running successfully, but when I try and follow this:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/linux/sql-server-linux-setup-ssis?view=sql-server-ver15#RHEL
The RHEL 8 repo doesn't have the mssql-server-is package in it, and using the RHEL 7 repo throws this error:
Error: Problem: conflicting requests
- nothing provides python needed by mssql-server-is-15.0.2000.5-4.x86_64 (try to add '--skip-broken' to skip uninstallable packages or '--nobest' to use not only best candidate packages)
I have both Python2 and Python 3 installed, and when I run this:
alternatives --config python
I see that /usr/bin/python2 is selected
Any ideas how I can get SSIS installed for RHEL 8 and SQL Server 2019?
I could install it by downloading the rpm and then installing it using --nodeps option as below:
sudo yum download mssql-server-is
sudo rpm -Uvh --nodeps mssql-server-is*rpm
Worked pretty smooth for me.
The goal is to install Microsoft Driver for SQL Server on Ubuntu 18.04 to write scripts using python package pyodbc.
I make steps according this article. The problem is when I run command sudo ACCEPT_EULA=Y apt-get install msodbcsql17 then I recieve next error message:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
msodbcsql17 : Depends: unixodbc (>= 2.3.1) but it is not installable
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.
Only relevant discussion of this problem is here. But I have already tried all recomendations:
Remove all relevant packages
Use clean system
Build unixodbc manually
Nothing helped me. Does anyone met same problem or have guide how to install this driver on clean Ubuntu 18.04 server system?
I am trying to uninstall PostgreSQL 9.3 from a Windows 2012 server using the uninstall-postgresql.exe. During the uninstall, I get an error:
The uninstall-postgresql.dat file cannot be found and is required to uninstall the application, aborting. Uninstallation did not complete successfully
The uninstall-postgresql.dat exists. Not sure if its corrupt or something.
Is there anyway to get rid of this error message and still use the uninstall-postgresql.exe to uninstall the DB from the Windows system?
When I try to install the agent downloaded from (http://assets.nagios.com/downloads/nagiosxi/agents/linux-nrpe-agent.tar.gz) I get a firewalld error. The only solutions I can find is to enable the firewall but I do not want to.
2nd, I tried this command "cat /dev/null > 4-firewall". But the installer also came back with an error "The script that failed was: './A-subcomponents'"
Is there a workaround?

INSTALLATION ERROR!
===================
Installation step failed - exiting.
Check for error messages in the install log (install.log).
If you require assistance in resolving the issue, please include install.log
in your communications with Nagios XI technical support.
The script that failed was: './4-firewall'
In the same folder that contains fullinstall, try creating an empty installed.firewall file by executing:
touch installed.firewall
Then try re-running
./fullinstall
This is based on line 12 of 4-firewall:
# Was this step already completed?
if [ -f installed.firewall ]; then
echo "Firewall rules already configured - skipping."
exit 0
fi
If a file named installed.firewall exists in that directory, the firewall configuration step should get skipped.
Also you can enable firewalld on your server with the following command.
To enable firewalld,
systemctl enable firewalld
To start firewalld
systemctl start firewalld
To check the status of firewalld
systemctl status firewalld

I am trying to update mac port to install qt.
sudo port install qt4-mac-devel(error no SDK found)
which I need to install webkit-capybara
sudo gem install capybara-webkit -v '0.7.2'(error in setting up native environment)
You need to use the -d option to get enough information to diagnose this; but take a look at https://trac.macports.org/wiki/FAQ#selfupdatefails for common problems and solutions.
Seems Apple no longer installs Xcode's command line tools. See here: http://ericwilson.erics.ws/ericsblog/2012/8/26/macports-port-selfupdate-fail for solution.
Just wanted to add that on Mac OS 10.12 Sierra i was getting the WARNING: GNUSTEP_SYSTEM_ROOT is not defined error on selfupdate and i did already have the Xcode command line tools installed, licensed and working. But my copy of Xcode had become out of date, even though that was not showing up on the automatic software updates.
I had version 7 and for Sierra (and macports) you need version 8.
So I manually downloaded Xcode 8 via the App Store and it solved the problem for me.
