I am deploying a spring application which contains files with around 100000 entries. Each row in the file has about 23 chars.
The app deploys fine when a file has 100000 entries but when I increase the contents to 400000 entries, when I access my app url I get a 404 Not found error.
I need to figure out what causes the crash ( whether a memory problem or something else ) but I do not see anything erroneous in the tomcat log files, using the command vmc files [app_name] tomcat/logs/catalina.... just info messages related to server startup.
Are there other options to debug the issue?

I would look into what Dan has mentioned! Also can you look at the logs folder to see if the files there give more information.
vmc logs <app-name>
or
vmc files <app-name> logs/stderr.log
vmc files <app-name> logs/stdout.log
Okay, the application was using too much memory, as a result the Java processes was being destroyed causing the router to return a 404 when trying to route to the application.

I will start off with a note that I have looked through an excessive amount of questions that have already been asked.
I have set up a droplet on Digital Ocean and currently trying to configure my React application to run on it with nginx. It was running fine before I decided to remove my static files and replace it with another folder (instead of replacing file-by-file... damn).
My nginx configuration user is nginx and I believe I've set the correct permissions for all static data in the directory where it reads from. However, I still think the problem lies with permissions and hoping someone could help to figure out the problem.
Permissions on the directories
nginx.conf has the following set: user nginx;
nginx running processes with what users are running them:

Maybe some directories/files are to remain 'chowned' to root?

Right, finally found the answer to my own question...
For anyone who faces the same issue, the following command on static folder inside grade-ui fixed it:
chmod -R +rx css

Important considerations:
The appengine-web.xml file has no errors.
We tried deploying in different versions with no success.
The application can be deployed in another appengine application, but not in our production application.

I was able to deploy today (2018/03/18) with no changes to code or configuration files. I guess Google did something to solve the issue.
500 A server error has occurred on deployment is usually related to malformed configs, including app.yaml and cron.yaml (and Java equivalents). Or if unsupported stanzas are included. Please check your GAE app configs and attempt to strip them down to the essentials just to narrow down which stanzas/flags are messing up the deployment.
Ive been working on get a proxy working for when im school, to access sites that i use alot for work but my school dont like.. This is the error it comes up with when i try to upload the files to googles app engine..

So im very confused on why it is asking for a "School.yaml" But i made one anyway, And even though its been made, it still displays this error, So if anyone can help, Please!
Your full project path contains two space characters and needs to be quoted, also, a trailing slash might be required i.e.:
C:\Python27\python.exe appcfg.py update "C:\Users\alastair\Desktop\School Files\Proxy Files\mirrorrr-master\mirrorrr-master\" assuming that's where you have your app.yaml file.
In your case it's thinking you are pointing to "C:\Users\alastair\Desktop\School" file which does not exist and thus showing the error.
I'm getting errors when I attempt to run my project deployed to app engine. I see issues like:

The class name looks reasonable (well, for certain values of reasonable - this is code generated by the Scala compiler). I see the file in my local web/WEB-INF/classes/com directory and I can decompile it with javap (so I don't think it's corrupt or anything silly like that.) Everything works fine running on a local debug server.
Even more strange, I can pour all the .class files in web/WEB-INF/classes into a jar file like this:
cd to the web/WEB-INF/classes directory
jar cf ../lib/classes.jar .
And now, if I upload the project (pressing the deploy button in Eclipse), I don't see those ClassNotFoundException errors. Delete the jar file, re-upload the project, get the errors again.
I'm wondering if there's some sort of limit on the names of .class files? Or something else happening in the deployment process that's causing this to happen?
EDIT: running from the command line made this much more clear (using maven now):

But it still looks to me like that's a valid filename.
The inclusion of "special" characters in the file name may be the issue here.
There is currently an open issue regarding "special" characters in project file names.

The original issue was reported by a Python App Engine user, however if you look in the comments you'll see that it apparently affects Java users as well.
I have uploaded my cakephp app to cpanel and adjust and configure it to works with cpanel. Everything mostly works, however i find out that try to retrieve static file from tmp in public_html result in error. It tries to go to controller i think.
My structure is like this :

/renttycoons <= this is app folder
/public_html
/tmp

....
I tried to access www.domain.com/tmp/test.csv, but result in errors although the test.csv was there. This is the error :
Error: The requested address '/403.shtml' was not found on this server.

does it gives you cake like error? it seems like a permission error.
erorr 403 is forbidden error, not a not found or something like that. Your server gives you that error and tries to show you a page for that error that is not found so you are receiving a 404 for not having a page for a 403 error hehe.
It must be a permission error, try changing permission to 705 in the temp folder, your test.csv file included. If you are creating it with php, php normally creates them with the minimun permission, at least that happened to me... you may use chmod function in php to change the permissions after creating a file.
