I want to create/design the similar to above site/url using silverlight.
For this I have created separate user controls(Xaml files). Please advice me the steps/way to proceed in silveright. I am using silverlight versin 2.
I am thinking to use Wrappanel to adjust all the xmal files in Home page/default page. so that I can navigate to any page.
You can grab the XAP from your internet cache, open it with any zip tool and then use something like reflector to look in the DLLs to get the XAML out, should you desire to see how they did it themselves.
There's actually a project on codeplex which demonstrates how to do this dashpart effect with full source code called blacklight, so the above is probably not necessary.

We are adding help files to our WPF application in Visual Studio 2010. We have not been able to find so far a method that we have been able to use.
We have some HTML help files, currently they are just in a directory, not added to the WPF project.
We don't have index or search.
I have seen that maybe we can do something with cmh, but this seems quite old and outdated now.
Ideally we would like all this in WPF, but if its not possible we need another solution.
We would like to be able to hit F1, have our main help page displayed (we have this now, it opens in our browser) and additionally add Index and Search to our main help page.
Can anyone point us in the right direction please?
Maybe you should take a look at the Process.Start Method page on MSDN. In particular, the Process.Start Method (String) page has a code example showing how to open web pages from a WPF application.
To do this inside a WPF application, look at the WebBrowser Class page at MSDN. This also provides a code example of loading a web page into your application.
EDIT >>> After re-reading your post, I realise that I missed the bit about searching and indexing. Surely, you can just search through the web pages yourself? Just open each page and use something like
if (webPageContent.Contains(searchTerm)) return webPageContent;
I am working in Silverlight 4.0 and have created a web application which is intended to be used as a utility for others. I have set up several screens using XAML in particular configurations as the UI, however I imagine that some people would like the option to customize the pages of the application. Is there a way they can do this? The XAML is not in the XAP file, it is compiled into a DLL, so
The answer depends on what kind of customization you want to offer your users. If you want users to be able to rearrange elements of the UI, you would not have them modify XAML. You would want to implement a "web part" interface in which users can move elements of the screen around, similar to Visual Studio. The major control vendors (e.g. Telerik, Intersoft, etc) include a Docking-style control.
I have a problem. I want to make a web application using silver light. I just want to know that can I use a css in this, because I read the the designing of silver light is in the xaml or we use css with html tag.
Is anybody clear my confusion?
Thanks
Silverlight XAML ≠ HTML+CSS
These are all different technologies. You probably better know Adobe Flash. Well Silverlight is very similar. It (may) run in the context of a browser, but it has nothing to do with HTML and/or CSS. It uses XAML files (as you pronounce them zammel). So if you decide to write a Silverlight application you will have to use XAML files and use Expression Blend to design your UI. Doing so would be faster than hand editing XAML files.
xaml is like html + css but its not the same , they have some things in common but nothing much important .
Better find yourself good video tutorials or a book and learn it from there :)
No you can't really use CSS in a silverlight project.
If it's worth the effort, what you could do is manually load the required CSS files with the WebClient class and parse them to style your controls accordingly.
Someone did something similar with the Sharepoint theme files, which are yet another format. Using SharePoint thmx files to style Silverlight describes how to do it. Maybe you can find some inspiration from that.
In my current project (presentation, slide software) I need to be able to make some simple XAML, text images, movies and stuff like that.
If it were HTML I would go with fckeditor or another free editor, but what to do in XAML?
Anyone know if its possible to make one yourself (like executecommand to a IE)? or download one from anywhre on the net?
Cheers
Take a look at this question: Designing WPF Windows for Free?
The leading answer recommends Kaxaml, XAMLpad and several more options.
At the moment I'm using Silverlight RadControls from Telerik. In my site I've implemented the RadUpload control. Because the control is not styled the way I want, I'm restyling it for my site. The way I'm doing this is as follows: Right click on xRadUpload > Edit Template > Edit a Copy. After doing this I'm able to style almost everything, except for one thing.
During runtime of the Silverlight application, the xRadUpload enables users to upload files. Those files that are selected using the browse button, show up in the application in several bars. I want to restyle those specific bars.
The problem is, I can't find those bars using Expression Blend.
I've already looked at the Telerik help documentation. It says that if you want to restyle the control you need to edit the following control templates: RadUpload and UploadItem.
After reading this I think I need to edit UploadItem, but I cannot find it, while my application works correctly. Has anyone encountered this problem before, who can help me?
Looks like Telerik has listed the items that are required in the UploadItem control. If you want to get the control template you can open the Telerik dll in Reflector and in Reflector look in the Resources folder for the dll. You should see the generic.xaml in there and you can double click it to open the file. In that file you should see the control templates.
My problem is solved, for the solution go to http://www.telerik.com/community/forums/silverlight/upload/xradupload-styling-problem.aspx
