For our monthly meetings, we have an ICS file which people should be able to click on and add to their calendars.

It works for phones and tablets but not for desktops/laptops. How can I fix this link (or add more links) to make it a single click for people to add this to their calendars?

I created a new base calendar for use with projects I have created in work. As I had to create an extensive list of holidays in the 'Change Working Time' function, I need to share this with colleagues to prevent a lot of unnecessary manual work and to ensure everyone has the same list.
Is this possible? I cant find an export option anywhere for the calendars.
I have searched various links on Google and they just tell me how to create tasks or export to Excel, how to add new dates or calendars but nothing about sharing.
Is there a file pathway that i can find the file it's saved in and copy it to send to colleagues if I am not able to export it from Project itself?
Microsoft Project has a tool called the Organizer which allows for copying objects such as views and calendars between projects. The Organizer is found on the File tab and looks like this:
In the lower left corner, select the file that contains the new custom calendar and in the lower right corner select the file that you want to copy it to. Then click the Calendar tab at the top of the window, select the name of the calendar on the left and click the Copy button to copy to the new file.
The Windows 10 mail app also displays your calendar if youre configured for an Exchange server. Any idea if it's possible to add a subscribed calendar -- i.e. a shared calendar sent with a link like webcal://...? I sure don't find anything obvious in the "New Accounts" options or via internet search
Go to http://calendar.live.com and log into your account
Click “Import” on the top bar then click “Subscribe” on the left
Paste your iCal feed into “Calendar URL”
Click “Subscribe” to add the feed

I have been able to get an ical/webcal in after a few attempts:
All you need to do is add your calendars to your live mail account.
Then remove and readd the account from your Windows 10 Calendar, and you will see them in there.
So it is not a direct method, but it works :)
Instructions updated for March 2020:
First, subscribe to the calendar at Outlook.com:
Go to https://outlook.live.com/calendar/ and log in
Click Add calendar on the left sidebar
Click Subscribe from web on the left sidebar of the dialog that appears
Paste in your iCal URL, add a calendar name if you want, and click Import
Then, if you haven't already add your Outlook.com account (Calendar > Settings > Manage Accounts > Add account) to your Windows 10 Calendar app. Note that your subscribed calendars will not appear under the default Microsoft account calendar.
Then, in Calendar, press the Ellipsis at the top right and press Sync.
In ClearCase, is there anyway to make a straight hyperlink to file? Like of the form
http://mysite/myfile
where all a user has to do is click on the link to view a page or download a file?
We have several non-technical people at our organization who want to look at some of the documentation that developers are storing on ClearCase.
On Windows, you can try and version (add to source control) an xxx.lnk file: a shortcut file, which is set to open an http url.
Once loaded in a snapshot view (or even accessed in a dynamic view), a simple click should open a browser.
An even simpler solution would be to store an xxx.html static page, which would:
open the same browser when double-clicked
list all the actual documentation urls you want.
One file, multiple links!
I have a calendar app for which I provide subscriptions by linking client using the "webcal://" protocol. It's working quite nicely. What I'd like to know is if there is a way title it in the receiving calendar application, such as Outlook, iPhone, Google, etc?
Currently, when loaded into Outlook it is displayed as the name of the web script from which it came. For instance if the script is (using ColdFusion) Create_ICS_File.cfm then Outlook shows it as "Create_ICS_File in Internet Calendars".
On the iPhone it shows up in Calendar as the full web address including URL variables. For example: mywebsite.com/Create_ICS_File.cfm?calid=4329-32
Is the a way, in the ICS file or otherwise, to set a title on these subscriptions?
Using the X-WR-CALNAME - The display name of the calendar
should do the trick

How do I change the display name of an iCalendar in Outlook?
Our company have some data in excels/images files that we want to make available to our employee through our sharepoint portal. However we do not want them to be able to download the files or copy/paste them to their PCs.
For this problem, I have written a silverlight app to display excel file and disable select/copy function. So now we upload the files to a document library, make this library 'viewable' to all users. We have a webpart that access the library and pass the links in encrypted form to the silverlight app to display. From the webpart page, the user can not see the links to the actually files. We will give the users link to this webpart page but not the document library itself.
However if a user goes to the 'All site contents' page, he can still easily see the document library and hence download the files.
My question is : is there a way to have the files viewable without letting the user having the link to download it ?
If there are any better ways, I would like to know as well.
Many thanks
A relatively simple way to hide the library from the "All site contents page" is by making it hidden. You can't do this from the UI, but you can either change the list instance (if you build the list definition and instance yourself) to have the list created as hidden, or you can open the list / library with SharePoint Designer and check "Hide from browsers" in the settings of the list.
Alternatively you can mark the list as hidden using the SharePoint Management Shell:
$w = get-spweb http://yoursite
$l = $w.Lists["yourlistname"]
$l.Hidden = $true
$l.Update()
Notice though that making a library hidden doesn't prevent users from browsing to it if they know the URL of the library. Through a developer proxy/network sniffer (like Fiddler), even if using Silverlight, one could figure out the url of the library if one really want to. Even if the links are passed to the Silverlight app encrypted, the Silverlight app itself will likely have to access the full urls, and as such they are trackable.
